Bluffton University has a long tradition of excellence in music. It is known for its vocal and instrumental organizations and the high quality of these programs. Each organization is under the direction of a music faculty member.

Each year the Communication and Theatre Department and Music Department present such musicals and operas as Into the Woods, The Music Man, Oklahoma!, and others. These are student productions and participants are chosen by auditions. The musical production is presented each spring as part of the May Day activities.
