What is your favorite thing about being a teacher?
My favorite thing is when a student asks questions and finally "gets it."

What age were you when you first discovered that you wanted to be a teacher?
Both of my parents were teachers so I always felt a pull toward teaching... It was during my senior year of college student teaching that I realized I wanted to be a college professor rather than teach high school.

What is your favorite subject to teach, and why?
Linear Algebra is my favorite subject to teach because it has so many wonderful applications to real life.

Where is your favorite place on Bluffton's campus?
My favorite place would have to be my office.

What do you do in your free time?
I enjoy sports and music; I play a pick-up game of soccer once a week and regularly practice my trumpet.

What was the first job you ever had?
My first job was mixing mud for a mason.

Where did you attend college?
I went to Eastern Mennonite University.

What kinds of activities did you participate in when you attended college?
I was involved in soccer, baseball, orchestra and choir.

I love to visit anywhere with mountains, especially the Himalayas and the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.

What is your 'bucket list', or something you would like to do before you die?
I would love to be able to go back to India and spend some extended time there... We adopted two of our children from there so it is close to our hearts.
