Information for other libraries that wish to borrow from Musselman Library

The ILL department serves as the liaison to other institutions that place requests for our materials. Items are available for loan if they are listed as available in the library online catalog.

Items which we will not circulate to other libraries:

  • Audio-visual materials
  • Items that have a status other than "available" in the online catalog
  • Items listed as "local circ only" in the online catalog
  • Items in particularly poor condition which may not survive shipping
  • Older or more rare items in the collection will be subject to the decision of the Interlibrary Loan Assistant or other appropriate staff member as to whether or not to loan the item
  • Please contact Carrie Phillips if you have a special request

Musselman Library's ILL department uses the OCLC Interlibrary Loan system to submit and fill requests to and from other institutions. The lending and borrowing policies as listed in the Name-Address Directory entry for Bluffton University ILL (symbol BLC) in the OCLC system are listed below.

We can send or receive via Odyssey. Our IP is the same as for ARIEL.

FAX POLICY:
We prefer to do only RUSH requests via fax. 1-10 pages, Free. 11-14 pages, $1.00. 15 pages and up, $1.00 + $.25 cents per page (15 pages = $1.25).
Regular ILL charges also apply.

Libraries outside of the US - we will charge shipping costs (minimum $2.00) but reserve the right to charge you what you would charge us. International loans must use IFM.
