Full-text access to Contemporary Literary Criticism (selected fulltext criticism of numerous authors and works) and to the Dictionary of Literary Biography (biocritical essays on authors and their works, written by academic scholars) is also included. Literary Reference Centerô Plus is a comprehensive database that provides users with a broad spectrum of information on thousands of authors and their works across literary disciplines and timeframes. It has been specifically designed for public libraries, secondary schools, junior/community colleges, and undergraduate research. Literary Reference Center is a full-text database that combines information from thousands of major respected reference works, books, and literary journals as well as original content from EBSCO Publishing. The Literature Resource Center (LRC) provides access to biographies, bibliographies, and critical analyses of authors from all time periods and literary disciplines. Included are writers in the areas of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, history, journalism and more. Content is derived from over 400 reference sources; more than 360 scholarly journals and literary magazines; excerpts from scholarly monographs, literary correspondence and diaries; book reviews; multimedia; and selected websites. Among the reference sources are Contemporary Authors, Contemporary Literary Criticism, Dictionary of Literary Biography and Merriam-Websterís Encyclopedia of Literature.

LitFinder covers all time periods and contains a wealth of primary literature content, including approximately 140,000 full-text poems, 800,000 poem citations and excerpts, 7,100 full-text short stories and novels, 3,800 full-text essays, 2,000 full-text speeches and 1,700 full-text plays. It also includes biographies, work summaries, photographs and a glossary. Users can find everything from the sonnets of Shakespeare to contemporary poems by African-American women, the inaugural speeches of George Washington through Barack Obama, short stories by Edgar Allan Poe to stories by up-and-coming writer Elizabeth Weld, or essays on such subjects as the arts, science and religion.

American Periodicals Series Online contains page images of more than 1,100 historic American magazines, journals, and newspapers. These resources illuminate the development of American culture, politics, and society across some 150 years. Articles can be searched by author, source, and words in the complete text. The collection is arranged in three series: 1741-1800, the period of transition from British colony to emerging nation; 1800-1850, pre-Civil War and the era of debate over slavery; and 1850-1900, Civil War and Reconstruction. Communication & Mass Media Complete incorporates CommSearch (formerly produced by the National Communication Association) and Mass Media Articles Index (formerly produced by Penn State) along with numerous other journals to create a research and reference resource in the communication and mass media fields. CMMC offers cover-to-cover ("core") indexing and abstracts for over 300 journals, and selected ("priority") coverage of over 100 more, for a combined coverage of over 400 titles. Furthermore, this database includes full text for nearly 200 journals. Many major journals have indexing, abstracts, PDFs and searchable citations from their first issues to the present (dating as far back as 1915). MLA Directory of Periodicals 

MLA Directory of Periodicals contains all information available on the journals and series on the MLA bibliography's Master List of Periodicals. Over 5,500 titles are included; of these, over 4,400 are currently indexed. The entries include editorial contact information, as well as frequency, circulation, subscription prices and submission guidelines.


ProQuest Dissertations & Theses 
Coverage: 1861 - present

Information about doctoral dissertations and master's theses, ranging from the first U.S. dissertation, accepted in 1861, to those accepted as recently as last semester; those published from 1980 forward also include 350-word abstracts, written by the author. Citations for master's theses from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. Of the 1.5 million titles listed, UMI offers over a million in full text.
