Arts & Humanities Citation Index is a multidisciplinary database covering the journal literature of the arts and humanities. Subjects include art, language, linguistics, literature, music, philosophy, radio, television & film, religion, theatre, and more. With this database, you can do the usual author and topic searches, but then benefit from the cited reference search option. This feature allows the researcher to discover articles that cite a known author or work. Updated weekly.


CAIRSS for Music 

CAIRSS (Computer-Assisted Information Retrieval Service System) is a bibliographic database of music research literature emphasizing music education, music psychology, music therapy, and music medicine. Offers selective indexing for over 1,300 journals and complete indexing for 18 primary journals. The database is a joint venture between faculty and staff at the Institute for Music Research at UT-San Antonio and Southern Methodist University.


IPA Source NEW!    FULL-TEXT CONTENT 

IPA Source is the web's largest library of International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) transcriptions and literal translations of opera arias and art song texts, an important resource for singers, teachers, and all those interested in the correct and knowledgeable performance of vocal literature. IPA Source offers texts to works for the solo voice in Latin, Italian, German, French, Spanish, and English.


NAXOS Music Library 

NAXOS Music Library (NML) is the world's largest online classical music library. Currently, NML offers streaming access to more than 41,700 CDs with more than 597,700 tracks. On average, 500 new CDs are added to the library every month. The coverage is broad, from classical, world music, and jazz to film music, rock, and nostalgia. Features include multiple search options, pronunciation guide for composer and artist names, work details and/or liner notes for many recordings, and opportunity for students and faculty to create playlists (contact the Research and Information Desk for information).


NAXOS Music Library - Jazz 

NAXOS Music Library Jazz (NMLJ) is one of the most comprehensive collections of jazz music available online, with a mix of jazz legends and contemporary jazz. Currently, NMLJ offers streaming access to more than 3,800 CDs and new CDs are added every month, an invaluable resource for jazz enthusiasts! As with NAXOS Music Library (NML), features for NAXOS Jazz include multiple search options and opportunity for students and faculty to create playlists (contact the Research and Information Desk for information).


NAXOS Video Library 

NAXOS Video Library (NVL) provides streaming access to an extensive (and growing) collection of classical music performances, opera, ballet, live concerts and documentaries. Watch the world's greatest opera houses, ballet companies, orchestras and artists perform on demand! Search videos by composer, production, artist, venue, role or genre. Faculty can create playlists with customized clips from any video for use with classes (contact the Research and Information Desk for information). Libretti and text are included when available.


OhioLINK Music Center 

The OhioLINK Music Center, a subset of the Naxos Music Library, is an online streaming music database of international works from Classical to Spoken Word. The 78,000+ tracks, 21,000+ works can be searched or browsed by track, title, performer, album, composer and date of composition. Flash player is required. Access to the music files is restricted to the students, faculty and staff of OhioLINK member institutions.


Oxford Music Online    FULL-TEXT CONTENT 

Oxford Music Online (formerly Grove) is the most comprehensive and authoritative online resource for research into all aspects of music. It includes the full text of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians (2nd edition); The New Grove Dictionary of Opera; and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz, (2nd edition). Through a partnership with the music software designer Sibelius, over 500 of Grove's musical examples are now available in sound. The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians is also available in print, at ML100.N48 2001 in the Musselman Library Reading Room.


RILM Abstracts of Music Literature    FULL-TEXT CONTENT 
Coverage: 1969 - present.

International bibliography of scholarly writings on music and related disciplines in over 200 languages. Scholarly journals (500+), books, bibliographies, catalogues, conference proceedings, discographies, dissertations, Festschriften, films, and videos are all covered by RILM. Concert reviews, recording notes, and pedagogical manuals are indexed if they are of scholarly interest. Features original-language titles, title translations in English, full bibliographic information, and abstracts in English. Published by Rèpertoire International de Littèrature Musicale, New York. Education Research Complete    FULL-TEXT CONTENT 

Education Research Complete is a bibliographic and full text database covering scholarly research and information relating to all areas of education. Topics covered include all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, and testing. Education Research Complete also covers areas of curriculum instruction as well as administration, policy, funding, and related social issues. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 1,500 journals, as well as full text for more than 750 journals. This database also includes full text for more than 100 books and monographs, and full text for numerous education-related conference papers.

ERIC (EBSCOhost Interface) indexes education-related literature, beginning in 1966. The EBSCOhost interface is similar to Academic Search Complete. The ERIC database is the world's largest source of education information, containing abstracts of documents and journal articles on education research and practice. The database covers descriptions and evaluations of programs, research reports and surveys, curriculum and teaching guides, instructional materials, position papers, and resource materials. In 1993, ERIC began indexing education-related books, including the output of major publishers


Humanities International Complete    FULL-TEXT CONTENT 

Humanities International Complete is a comprehensive database of humanities content, providing full text of hundreds of journals, books and other published sources from around the world.
