Each internship is individually designed to meet the needs of our students and the agencies willing to provide this valuable experience. Internships experiences may be completed during any academic term including summer. Students may complete internships while taking other classes or choose to concentrate solely on the internship experience. Credits range from one to 15 for any individual experience. One hour of internship credit equals a minimum of 40 hours on the job. Internships may be paid or volunteer.
Each year our department sponsors Nature Awareness Weekend (NAW). The event is co-sponsored by Van Wert's Starr Commonwealth campus and the YMCA's Camp Clay in Van Wert. Student interns assist in program development to gain valuable learning experience in the field.
