Master of arts in education
Master of arts in education
Six courses (18 semester hours) form the foundation for the master of arts in education and must be completed by all students wishing to earn a master's degree. Students then choose one of two concentrations to complete requirements for the MAEd.
Degree-seeking students will choose one of the following concentrations:
Curriculum and instruction (12 semester hours)
Teachers completing this concentration would enhance professional skills and knowledge
in a practical-based perspective on the teaching and learning process. Teachers should
pursue this option when desiring to become a change agent in their classrooms and
buildings.

Intervention specialist (23 semester hours)
This program prepares teachers to work with students with mild to moderate educational
needs. Completing this concentration and passing the appropriate Praxis II assessments
leads to a recommendation for an Intervention Specialist: Mild/Moderate K-12 license
