This employee handbook has been prepared to acquaint employees with the philosophy, practices, policies and benefits of employment at Bluffton University. It is designed to be a useful reference for all who work at Bluffton. Regular full-time and part-time teaching faculty should also consult the Faculty Handbook which contains additional information on faculty policies and procedures. Adjunct teaching faculty should refer to the "Adjunct Handbook" for specific information related to policies and procedures.
Please remember that this handbook does not constitute a contract, and that Bluffton University, at its discretion, may change any of the policies in this handbook at any time without prior notice as circumstances warrant. Employees will be informed of any such changes, including practices and procedures not included in this handbook such as specific departmental procedures. Please ask your department supervisor or the human resources office for additional information.
Employment policy is determined by the president in consultation with the President s Cabinet; no statement or promise by any other supervisor, manager or department chair, past or present, may be interpreted as a change in policy nor will it constitute an agreement with an employee.
