Bluffton University seeks a full-time undergraduate admissions counselor. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have strong interpersonal and group communication skills and possess a competitive spirit and sales orientation. The candidate should be multiculturally competent and dedicated to Bluffton's goal of creating a diverse learning environment. A bachelor's degree is required. Previous sales and/or college admissions experience preferred.
Coordination of all recruitment activities for students living in the counselor's selected territory. Traveling up to eight weeks in the fall and two weeks in the spring for recruitment; coordinating church and high school visits; representing Bluffton at college fairs, conferences and other church-related functions and locations including camps; maintaining contact with various university constituencies including prospective students and their parents, guidance counselors, alumni, pastors, etc.; conducting campus interviews and tours with prospective students; regular telephone and electronic communication with prospective students; hiring and supervising student interns; other admissions responsibilities as assigned by the director of admissions. Frequent evening and weekend hours required. Occasional overnight travel is required.
