Students participate in Business Club activity

Many opportunities exist to get to know your classmates and professors outside of the classroom, to network and put your book-learning to work.

Student Investment Club
Students get hands on experience in learning about investments through the management of one of the university's endowment funds. Club members research, analyze and select the companies in which the club invests through the purchase of shares of common stock. Today the portfolio has a value in excess of $140,000. Chicago
Sponsored by the Student Investment Club, this trip is open to majors in the business studies department based on seniority. Its purpose is to expose business studies students to leading-edge corporations, to create opportunities to better understand the financial markets of the Midwest and to create opportunities to experience an urban culture. More...

Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) Conference
MEDA’s primary goal is inventing and collaborating on business solutions to end global poverty. The organization, says its website, "has been designing and implementing innovative and effective market-driven economic development programs that improve the livelihoods of millions of people living in poverty around the world." Innovated Business Leaders (IBL) Club
IBL Club provides its members the opportunity to gain broader perspectives and insights into the business field. Alumni and area businessmen and women address club members at occasional dinner meetings throughout the academic year.
