Undergraduate Majors
Students may select majors in: economics, business administration, accounting or marketing. Students majoring in business administration can have a concentration in finance, human resources management, international business, management, management of information systems, marketing, public administration or a comprehensive major.
Students may select any two of the majors offered by the department. For the double major, required courses common to the two majors may count in each. Elective courses used to complete the major may count in only one of the two majors. Students desiring a double major should consult with their adviser for details.
Undergraduate Minors
Students may select one of the following: a minor in economics, a minor in business administration or a minor in accounting.
Undergraduate Internship Program
Approximately 50% of the students who graduate from the EBA department have completed an internship in an organization in their field of study. These internships have included a variety of businesses and not-for-profit organizations. They have included: McDonald's, Marathon Oil Company, Speedway, Cooper Tire Company, Dana, Ford Motor Company, Copeland Corporation, Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima News, and various local firms. Students interested in an internship should contact the Director of Internships during their junior or senior year for more information.
Student Opportunities
Undergraduate students are encouraged to take advantage of a variety of learning opportunities outside of the classroom. These include: Business Club, Student Investment Club, the Presidential Leadership Series, the Chicago trip, and numerous other student organizations. Students are also invited to attend the annual meeting of the Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA).
Graduate Programs
The department offers a Master in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management.
The EBA department aims:
- to provide essential education in the areas of economics, business administration and accounting for students seeking careers in business, government, not-for-profit institutions and teaching;
- to make available a sufficient foundation in the disciplines of economics, business administration and accounting and related areas such as mathematics to qualify students for graduate study and for professional certification; and
- to advance an understanding of the economic aspects of our society as one basis for more intelligent citizenship and participation in contemporary society.
