Praxis Testing
Here's the information on what tests you need to take,
BC Education Department's recommendation of when you should take each,
scores needed, and test dates.
Praxis I
- Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST)
- Reading, Math, Writing
- Required for admission to BC's Teacher Education Program
- Need to attain a score of 170 on all three parts
- Take during your first year or fall of your sophomore year;
basically once you have declared your major
Praxis II
- Specialty Tests (see your major below for specifics)
- Required for Ohio licensure
- Need to attain a passing score
- Take during the semester before you student teach
- Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT)
- Not required for Early Childhood license

- Need to attain a passing score
- Take during the semester you student teach

- Performance Based Assessment
- Required for four year license
- Need to attain a passing score
- Take during the spring of your first year of teaching or
during your second year of teaching
