The Old North End has a rich and interesting history, shaped by a mixture of
continuities and changes. For a century now, it has been home to different
ethnic groups and different nationalities; a variety of people have called it
home. At the same time, through all the changing faces, from its beginning
to today, the neighborhood has remained a solidly working class ward. As the
different buttons below will explain, while neighborhood residents have made
their living in a variety of settings, most have done so in blue-collar
ways.
