The Witmarsum, usually referred to as "The Wit", is a weekly campus newspaper published each Friday during the school year. Edited and staffed by students, the paper serves the student body and the campus community with coverage of on-campus events, feature articles about campus life, and a lively opinion page.
A faculty advisor from the communication and theatre department provides professional guidance and feedback for editors and staff members. At weekly staff meetings, students brainstorm story ideas, receive writing assignments, and eat pizza.
Named after the hometown of Dutch Mennonite leader Menno Simons, The Witmarsum has been a staple of the Bluffton University community since the first decade of the twentieth-century. Today, The Witmarsum appears both in print and online.
