Songs for a New World
by Jason Robert Brown
Songs for a New World is a contemporary musical revue that introduces us to compelling characters ranging from a fearless young mother to a defiant prisoner to a hysterically disgruntled Mrs. Claus. Without any spoken dialogue, the musical uses tightly-structured narrative songs to paint vivid portraits of pivotal moments in these characters' lives.
