The requirements for the Social Studies major include 45 hours of course work distributed over the areas of economics, history, political science, geography and sociology (senior comprehensive examinations will be taken in each area, where applicable). For a teaching license, additional courses are required. Students interested need to plan carefully with their major adviser and the director of teacher education. Course requirements include:
