The Bluffton University Women's Council began in 1941. The purpose of the council was to stimulate interest in the Bluffton College program and to provide funds for purchasing needed equipment for the college. Today, the council has a special interest in supporting the needs of female students. Each year the Bluffton University Women's Council awards grants to female students to help them gain professional experience in a chosen career. In the past five years, the Women's Council has helped 50 female students enrich their undergraduate experience with opportunities for professional growth.
