At May Day 2007, these 1972 alumnae purchased
the Tea Party Basket donated by the Riley Creek
Red Hatters. Each year these four women
gather to celebrated their birthdays together.
This year they will have a tea party.
Bluffton University Women's Council Basket Sale
The Women's Council holds its annual fund raiser at May Day. Proceeds support many worthy projects at Bluffton University. Since 1977 more than $122,000 has been donated by Women's Council. At May Day 2007 a new project was initiated, the
May Day Basket Sale. This event is fun for all ages and children who visit the sale receive a gift.
Your participation is invited in two ways:
- Donate a gift basket to be sold. Often gift baskets have a theme, such as the Tea Party Basket to the right or the basket of Beavers below. The baskets vary in price, although the best-sellers are those that do not exceed $50. The basket should be wrapped, donor's name recorded and the contents listed. If you are making a basket for the sale you can deliver it to the alumni office in Houshower House on Spring Street by Friday, May 2, or you can deliver it to the Marbeck Center Gallery Lounge on the morning of May Day. The sale begins at 9 a.m.
- Purchase a gift basket at May Day, Saturday, May 3, in Marbeck Center.
