The Lion and Lamb has recently published a new children's book, Swords to Plowshares. Stop by the center for a reception with author Lisa Weaver and illustrator Amanda Huston `13. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

A Brush With Fantasy: The Paintings of Mr. Atomic includes paintings by Toledo-based artists and twin brothers Mark and Mike Kersey.

Families of current and prospective students are invited to a picnic under the big tent. Tickets sold at picnic site, $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 3-10.

The Beavers, led by new head coach Denny Dorrel, take on Hanover. Tickets may be purchased at the gate and are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free for children 4 and under.

Alumni and friends are invited to join current students for a pick up game of Ultimate.

6 p.m. President's Banquet honoring alumni and donors
The President's Banquet celebrates achievement, service and charitable giving. Personal invitations with complimentary tickets will be mailed to Alumni Award recipients, their special guests and members of the President's Society, Heritage Society and Noah C. Hirschy Legacy Society. All others can reserve a place at the banquet for $27 online at http://tickets.bluffton.edu. Reservations required through before Sept. 26.

2014 Alumni Award recipients
  • William Herr '61 will receive the Lifetime Service Award, which honors alumni who have dedicated their lives to heartfelt service to people, community or church.
     
  • Bethny (ricks '06) Brown will receive the Outstanding Young Alumni Award, presented to a graduate from the past 10 years who is distinguished through professional achievement or service.
