Academic excellence on a personal level
Bluffton students are able to immediately interact in small class sizes with faculty trained at some of the country’s leading universities. Our faculty is focused on scholarly teaching—you won’t find any graduate teaching assistants. In addition, numerous faculty members serve as advisors to many of the student organizations on campus. Students get to know our faculty—inside and outside the classroom—and build relationships with them that can last a lifetime. It is hard for students to “slip through the cracks” at Bluffton.
Challenging expectations
Academics are taken seriously at Bluffton. However, so are the ideals of integrity, respect and character development. Bluffton has been listed on the John Tempelton Foundation’s Honor Roll for Character Building Colleges. An active honor system (our faculty do not monitor exams when they are given in the classroom), Christian growth opportunities and a commitment to respecting others has led to a distinct campus environment where student are challenged to grow as individuals—not just as students.
Commitment to student success
Put simply, we are committed to seeing our students graduate. We have designed a campus environment that lends itself to student success. National research on student success has shown that students who live on campus, work on campus and get involved in campus activities succeed. We are a residential campus where students, freshman through seniors, live on campus. Our Learn and Earn campus work program is one of a kind. And most students are involved in one or more of our campus organizations. We know this recipe for success works.
Satisfaction guarantee
We are confident in the overall Bluffton education. Our current students and graduates can attest to the value of the education they have received. That’s why we offer a satisfaction guarantee to all of our entering students. If any student is not satisfied with their experience after their first semester and they have met basic requirements, we refund their first semester charges.
