BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team was unable to find the back of the net in a 3-0 setback at the hands of Anderson University on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015. Bluffton fell to 4-7 overall and 0-2 in the Heartland Conference, while Anderson upped its season mark to 6-3 with a perfect 2-0 record in the HCAC.
The home team battled throughout the match but two Anderson scores in the first 11 minutes proved too much to overcome. Despite 16 shots put up by Anderson in the second period, the score remained 2-0 until Katie Frazer converted from deep for the capper with just under seven minutes to play.
The Beavers finished on the wrong end of a 21-10 shots margin with the Ravens piling up a 16-5 advantage in the second period. Anderson put 16 attempts on frame while Bluffton was on target with five of its shots. Ashley Keller (Piqua/Lehman Catholic) paced the Beavers with four shots (three on target). Katelyn Gardella (Troy/Miami East) and Skylar Liming (St. Marys/Memorial) chipped in with three and two shots, respectively. Sophomore Brittany Huff (Union/Northmont) gave the home team a chance with 13 saves.
