15 Questions for Nicole Wood
Q: What made you choose Bluffton?
A: I liked the small campus and that everyone on the volleyball team seemed so nice and friendly when I came to visit.
Q: What is your favorite Beaver volleyball moment?
A: Beating Defiance at home. The atmosphere at this game was AMAZING and I loved playing in it. I also liked that we played together as a team to achieve our goal of going 9-0 at home.
Q: How would your teammates describe you?
A: Optimistic and always smiling.
Q: What do you like most about being at Bluffton University?
A: Knowing most of the students and professors. Everyone knows of each other and comes and supports all of the sports teams.
Q: What is your favorite volleyball drill?
A: Probably when we scrimmage against each other at the end of practice. We really get competitive and work hard to beat each other and I love that kind of atmosphere.
Q: What has been your favorite class to date at Bluffton?
A: My favorite class is probably my World History class. I think that Professor Osborne is a great professor and I really like this subject.
Q: What is your major? Why did you choose this major?
A: My major is middle childhood education with an emphasis in math and social studies. I chose this major because I wanted to be a teacher. I also wanted to teach math, but I didn't want to teach anything higher than Calculus, so one of the professors told me about being a junior high teacher and I was able to choose another subject to teach.
Q: What was the best moment in your volleyball career?
A: In high school we made it all the way to the regional finals and I thought that it was amazing. But in college, my favorite moment was playing at the HCAC tournament. The atmosphere here was also amazing because the pressure was there. I love playing under pressure because there is no room for error so playing in single elimination just made me want to kill the ball every time. We were also playing very well as a team and it was great that we got to go that far.
Q: What are three things that you have to have with you on a volleyball road trip?
A: My blanket, pillow and all of my volleyball gear
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Remember the Titans or Twilight
Q: What is one thing that most people don't know about you?
A: I worked in an ice cream place
Q: Who is/are your role models?
A: My mom and Keri Walsh
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Hanging out with my friends, window shopping, eating and working out.

A: Pizza rolls and chocolate chip cookies
