BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team (11-14, 0-6) traveled to Franklin College on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 and dropped a tight match to the Grizzlies 3-0. The game scores were 30-24, 30-24 and 30-25. Coach Yarnell, who was pleased with the effort and enthusiasm that his squad displayed during the match, stated, " We teach our kids to play every point to its fullest. We played a very tough Franklin team and competed for the entire match. There was a stretch of three to five points in each game that we struggled to side out, but if we can iron those wrinkles out we will get to where we want to be."
Senior Keri Kuhlman (Shelby/Shelby) moved closer to third place in career kills at Bluffton as she hammered 16 bringing her total to 1217. Kuhlman also recorded 4 blocks and hit at a .308 clip for the match. Freshman libero Chelsea Wyse (Archbold/Archbold) finished with 16 digs against the powerful Franklin hitters. Sophomore Mariel Nash (Loudonville/Loudonville) led Bluffton with five blocks. Junior Brittany Shultz (Hudson, Ind./Prairie Heights) set up the Beaver hitters with 21 assists during the match.
Bluffton will be back in action this Friday, October 28 when it travels to play in the Manchester Tournament.
