Bear named HCAC Player of the Week

Bluffton College senior Jen Bear (Grover Hill/Lincolnview H.S.) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in two basketball games last week.

Bear combined for combined for 27 points and 20 rebounds as the Beavers went 1-1 last week. On Wednesday, she scored 13 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had one assist as BC fell to Franklin 78-53. Then on Saturday she turned in her second double-double of the season as BC beat Thomas More 74-60. In that game Bear scored 14 points and collected 11 rebounds, two blocks and a steal.

This season Bear is averaging 10.6 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game, which both rank ninth in the Heartland Conference.

Bluffton is currently 8-8 overall and 2-3 in the HCAC. The Beavers will host Anderson University Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. in Founders Hall.
