for graduate studies
I serve as the administrative assistant and business office representative for the Graduate Programs in Business where students can earn an MBA or MAOM. I may be new to the position, but I am well familiar with Bluffton University having graduated in 1995 with a bachelor's in English education and again in 2003 with an master's in organizational management. My history with Bluffton extended when I returned yet again, this time as an MBA and MAOM adjunct during spring semester 2013.
Knowing the impact of Bluffton University on my own life, I was eager to join the office of adult and graduate studies in May 2013. I believe in the mission and scope of Bluffton's work in providing something beyond an education or diploma. That something extra is embodied in my sincere desire to serve students, faculty and adjuncts, co-workers, supervisors and the organization. I believe my work, in however a small way, is contributing to the expansion of perspective that leads Bluffton's graduate students to more fully serve their organizations and communities.
I became even more fully immersed in the university when I married Gerald J. Mast, professor of communication here at Bluffton. Together, we spend a great deal of our time raising our three children, Anna (13), Jacob (11) and Jorian (2), and serving in many and various capacities at First Mennonite Church in Bluffton. I also enjoy gardening in a community farm, cooking creatively with whole foods and reading in front of our fireplace or on our screened-in porch. I am also interested in an evaluative approach to adopting technology and social media, and have learned what Netflix binging entails.
