Hola. My name is Betty Dills and I have been making my home here at Bluffton University for eight years and counting. I am one of two administrative assistants in the Adult and Graduate Education office. I work with graduate programs in business, graduate programs in education and post-baccalaureate students.
I’ve been asked what I enjoy most about my job. I would have to say, the people are wonderful to work with, the family atmosphere, the students and the spiritual setting. After eight years, I still am excited to come to work every day.
I have a passion for children. I am currently a foster/adoptive parent. As of now, my family includes Robert, my devoted and forgiving husband of 26 years; four children, Kristine (29), Stefanie (26), Dusty (25) and the newest addition, Russell (3). We are also in the process of adopting one more bundle of joy (9 months). Some say I am crazy, but it was what I was born to do. Even on the worst days, my lively household brings me so much warmth and joy. In addition I also have two beautiful grandchildren, Katie (10) and Kellssee (7). They all keep me active and feeling young, whether I look it or not!
I also enjoy remodeling houses and would you believe it, I can even do electrical wiring! There is always an ongoing project at home, kids under foot and all. My three year old is a great help if there are nails to be pounded.
Prior to coming to Bluffton University, I owned a convenience store, worked as a legal assistant and as an office manager for a stock brokerage firm. Now, this is my home and I am loving every minute of it!
