For the past five years, I’ve served as director of the Institute for Learning In Retirement, which offers courses for retired/semi-retired individuals. In January 2012, I took an additional position as administrative assistant for Bluffton’s graduate programs.
My roots are in central Illinois, where I grew up on a farm. I graduated from Bluffton University in 1980 and over the next six years lived and worked in Cassopolis, Mich.; Souderton, Pa; Clemson, S.C.; and Goshen, Ind.
I’ve been married for 24 years to my husband, Tim, a Bluffton graduate who operates the family tomato farm with his brother and nephew. We have five children, including Hannah, a college senior; Isaac, a college sophomore; Lily, who was born in China, and will be a junior in high school; Joseph, who was born in Cambodia, and will be a high school sophomore; and Levi, born in Cleveland, who will be an eighth grader.
Our family has always had a connection to the community of Bluffton University through concerts, intercultural, athletic and campus events. It is a pleasure to work with people who are taking the opportunities Bluffton University offers through its adult and graduate studies programs.
