Opening Convocation
This formal assembly marks the official opening of the academic year. New students are welcomed into the university community by faculty, staff and returning students. The featured speaker will be Nathan Whitaker, co-author with Tony Dungy, of the first year students' summer reading, Quiet Strength: The Principles, Practices and Priorities of a Winning Life.

New students are expected to be present for this important speech and returning students are encouraged to attend. Arts & Lecture credit will be offered for this event.

A Conversation with Nathan Whitaker
First-year students will have the exclusive opportunity to hear from this year's convocation speaker, Nathan Whitaker.

Feeling crafty? Check out Bob's Place for some DIY projects, including decorating your own mugs, picture frames and more. We'll also have a photo booth and photo printer. So bring your roommate and take a photo to put in your new picture frame.
