Why did you choose Bluffton?
I choose to attend Bluffton University for two main reasons. First, and most important, Bluffton University’s teacher education program has an excellent reputation in the area. Bluffton graduates are said to be the most prepared for their careers as professional educators, and the quality education I received while attending Bluffton is a strong testament to this claim.
Second, I wanted to have an opportunity to play college football, while attending a close-knit university focused on community and relationships.
What do you love about your job?
I love having the ability to impact numerous students’ lives for years to come just like those who impacted my life in a positive manner. I am humbled when I see young men and women mature into competent and highly productive members of society.
What faculty or staff member(s) were particularly influential and how?
Professors George Metz and Tim Byers were both particularly influential during my training at Bluffton. Dr. Metz was truly a father-figure who guided me during my time at Bluffton. Mr. Byers provides all his students a wealth of information based on personal experience from being a special education teacher for many years.
