Orientation & Registration Schedule

Summer Orientation & Registration is a one day event full of activities and information to help you make the transition from high school to college. You will meet with an academic advisor to register for classes, see your residence hall room, hear from current students and maybe even meet your future roommate. Sessions are planned for both you and your parents.

Begin your day by meeting your admissions counselor and picking up the information you'll need for the day. Smile for your ID card photo and head downstairs to meet student leaders. Parents and family members are also invited to check in and learn about resources for student success.

Welcome

University representatives will welcome you to campus and share insight on the foundations of the Bluffton experience.

9:45 - 10:50 a.m. 
The Bluffton Introduction
Centennial Hall
Meet current students, faculty and staff members in an intimate and informal setting as they share activities, tips and reflections on how you can succeed at Bluffton.

Discover expectations within Bluffton's Community of Respect and learn what it means to be a part of our integrated learning community.

Students, families, and friends are invited to a cafeteria-style lunch; just the way meals are served during the academic year. Student meals are complimentary; guests - $5; children ages 3-12 - $3; children under 3 – free.

Enjoy interactive entertainment courtesy of our current student leaders and learn more about Bluffton's campus involvement opportunities. Prepare for academic advising and class registration with information about Jenzabar, our web-based course management system.

12:30 - 2 p.m.

Discover meaningful ways parents and family members can support students in both academic and personal development through college. Learn about student challenges and transitions, and take an opportunity to ask your own questions to our panel of experts.

2 - 3 p.m.
Community Living

Yoder Recital Hall & Campus Residence Halls
Meet representatives from campus ministries and residence life and take a tour of your on-campus residence hall. Commuter students are invited to an information session about Bluffton’s commuter student services.

3 - 5 p.m.
Academic Advising and Registration

Technology Center, Centennial Hall
Meet with Bluffton's faculty advisors to discuss course possibilities and register for fall semester classes. Once you have your schedule, sign up for campus involvement opportunities, visit the bookstore, and pick up your student ID. Students who plan to take Spanish courses at Bluffton will take the Spanish placement test at this time.

3 - 5 p.m.
Parent and Family Reception

Main Floor Lounge, Centennial Hall
Parents and family members are invited to an informal reception with representatives from the business and financial aid offices as well as technology, admissions, career development, and residence life. Attend an optional session facilitated by Bluffton's Dean of Students about how to best support your student and yourself!
