Opening Convocation

This formal assembly marks the official opening of the academic year. New students are welcomed into the university community by faculty, staff and returning students. The featured speaker will be Ken Bain, author of the first year students' summer reading, What the Best College Students Do.

New students are expected to be present for this important speech and returning students are encouraged to attend. Arts & Lecture credit will be offered for this event.

Clean-up the Community with SERVE
Location: Meet at Marbeck Desk
Leave Marbeck Center at 8:30 a.m. to walk to Buckeye Lake for a light breakfast. After breakfast, pick up litter and beautify the community of Bluffton. This is a great way not only to serve but to meet new people and get more familiar with the village of Bluffton.

Worship Workshop

Interested in using your gifts and talents to help with worship on campus? Come to this interactive worship workshop. Participate in a workshop on worship leading (scripture reading, being a worship leader, etc.) or a workshop on being part of the worship band. If you have a guitar, bring it with you. Piano and drums will be provided.
