Fall Welcome 2008 Schedule

9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Residential Student Check-in

Welcome to your home away from home! Residence Halls open at 9 a.m. Room keys will be distributed at the front desk of each building by your Hall Director and Residence Life Staff. Other staff and students will be available to answer questions and provide assistance.

9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. & 2:30 p.m - 4:30 p.m.
One Stop Center

Questions for the Registrar's Office and the Business Office can be answered by university staff. Payments may be made at this time, although it is not required. ID pictures may be taken, cars registered and long distance accounts may be established.
Location: Centennial Hall, Ground Floor

11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Welcome Picnic

Enjoy a complimentary lunch at one of two convenient locations.
Location: Behind Bren-Dell Hall or Hirschy Hall.

1:45 - 2:30 p.m.

"Leaving Your Mark"
New students and families alike are invited to a special welcome program and greeting from President Jim Harder; V.P. of Enrollment Management & Student Life, Eric Fulcomer; and Student Senate President Zach Riggs. A special activity and entertainment follow  the greeting with an opportunity for students to leave their first "mark" on Bluffton University!

Farewell to Families

Unpack the last load, unwind and say good-bye!

Transfer Student Orientation Session
All transfer commuter students are requested to attend this session.  Get answers to all your last minute questions! 
Location: Stutzman Lecture Hall, Centennial Hall

2:30 p.m.
International Student Orientation Session
All international students are requested to attend this session.  Get answers to all your last minute questions! 
Location: Multicultural Affairs Office

4:45 - 5:30 p.m.
Welcome Group Session #1

New student will gather in small groups to discuss campus life in the first of a series of group sessions.
Location: Check signs posted on residence hall floors, lobbies or Marbeck Center.

5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Dinner for New Students

Dinner will be served family style with your Orientation Group members.
Location: Marbeck Center Commons

7:30 p.m.
Residence Hall Floor Meetings

Resident Advisors give tours of the halls and an introduction to residence life.
Location: To be posted on floor

9:00 p.m.
Community 101

Students gather to meet each other and participate in an entertaining and interactive introduction to Bluffton University. Hosted by Student Senate, Hall Chaplains and our Campus Pastor.
