Students are eligible to receive one of the following awards:
Presidential Scholarship
This is a full-tuition scholarship valued at more than $100,000 for four years. Two scholarships are awarded each year to winners of the Presidential Scholarship Competition. This scholarship is renewable all four years if student maintains a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Dean's Scholarship
This is a three-quarters tuition scholarship valued at more than $75,000 for four years. Two scholarships are awarded each year as a part of the Presidential Scholarship Competition. This scholarship is renewable all four years if student maintains a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Students with a 3.5 GPA (or higher) and a 26 ACT/1170 SAT (or higher) automatically qualify to participate in the annual Presidential Scholarship Competition in January 2012. Students attending this event compete for four scholarships: two full-tuition Presidential Scholarships (valued at more than $100,000 for four years) and two three-quarters tuition Dean's Scholarships (valued at more than $75,000 for four years).
Academic Honors with Distinction Scholarship
$14,000 annual scholarship (valued at $56,000 for four years). This prestigious award is given to high achieving students who have distinguished academic records and accomplishments. It is awarded based on high school GPA and ACT/SAT score at time of admittance. This scholarship is renewable all four years if student maintains a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Academic Honors Scholarship
$13,000 annual scholarship (valued at $52,000 for four years). This scholarship is awarded to new students with high academic standing who have proven themselves in the classroom and beyond. It is awarded based on high school GPA and ACT/SAT score at time of admittance. This scholarship is renewable all four years if student maintains a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Trustees Scholarship
$11,000 annual scholarship (valued at $44,000 for four years). This scholarship is named in honor of Bluffton University's trustees who actively invest their time and resources into Bluffton students. Awarded to new students based on high school GPA and ACT/SAT score at time of admittance. This scholarship is renewable all four years if student maintains a cumulative 2.5 GPA.
Alumni Scholarship
$9,000 annual scholarship (valued at $36,000 for four years). This scholarship is named in honor of Bluffton University's 14,000 alumni whose education is helping them impact the global community. Awarded to new students based on high school GPA and ACT/SAT score at time of admittance. This scholarship is renewable all four years if student maintains a cumulative 2.3 GPA.
Founders Grant
$5,000 annual scholarship (valued at $20,000 for four years). Founded in 1899, Bluffton University seeks to prepare students of all backgrounds for life as well as vocation. This grant is given to new students who seek to continue discovering their academic potential. It is awarded based on high school GPA and ACT/SAT score at time of admittance and is renewable all four years if student maintains a cumulative 2.0 GPA.

Presidential Scholarship Competition Award
$1,000 scholarship (valued at $4,000 for four years). Awarded to students participating in the Presidential Scholarship Competition. This event is held in late January each year.
Art Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship (valued at $4,000 for four years). Awarded to new students whose art portfolios are highly rated by Bluffton University art faculty. Portfolios must be submitted no later than March 1, for consideration. Contact the admissions office for more information.
Music Major Scholarship
$2,000 scholarship (valued at $8,000 for four years). Awarded to new students, music majors only, based on an audition for Bluffton University music faculty. Contact the admissions office or music department to schedule an audition.
Music Ensemble Scholarship
$1,000 award (valued at $4,000 for four years). Awarded to new students, non-music majors, based on an audition for Bluffton University music faculty. Contact the admissions office or music department to schedule an audition.
Mennonite Student Grant
$2,000 award (valued at $8,000 for four years). This grant is given to new students who are members of a Mennonite Church USA congregation.
Out-of-State Grant
$1,000 award (valued at $4,000 for four years). This grant is given to new, out-of-state students to help off-set travel costs.
Community Enrichment Grant
$2,000 award (valued at $8,000 for four years) given to new students from under-represented backgrounds at Bluffton. Students must submit an application for consideration. Recipients of this award will participate in Bluffton's mentorship program - Program H.O.M.E.
Church Matching Grant
Matches dollars provided by any Christian church congregation to a student member attending Bluffton.
Bluffton Opportunity Grant
Awarded to students based on completion of the FAFSA form. This award can be added to the above awards. This grant is awarded based on need as determined by the FAFSA. Amounts may vary.
