Pathways to Ministry Scholars Program

Attention All First Year and Sophomore Students

Pathways to Ministry Scholars

If you will have acquired sophomore or junior status by the end of this spring semester, you are eligible to apply for a special scholars program available through Pathways. The Pathways to Ministry Scholars program is intended to encourage students to consider the pastoral call to ministry during their sophomore or junior year. Five students will be selected to be ministry scholars for the academic year with the possibility of renewal for a second year. You will be expected to participate in a number of events that will assist in your process of discerning God's call on your life. These expectations are as follows:

  • Take one religion course during each semester of your first year of participation.
  • Participate in a trip to a seminary sampler at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Ind.
  • Attend at least six luncheons intended specifically for ministry scholars each semester.
  • Attend and participate in an end-of-year dinner.
  • Provide a written self-assessment of your discernment process in consideration of ministry as a vocation and an evaluation of the program.

Applications must be submitted by April 16, 2010, to Nancy Neff, Box 9, or neffn@bluffton.edu for the 2010-11 academic year.
