Pathways to Ministry Scholarship

Attention All First Year Students

Pathways to Ministry Scholarship

If you will have acquired sophomore status by the end of this spring semester, then you are eligible to apply for a special scholarship available through Pathways. The Pathways to Ministry Scholarship is intended to encourage students to consider the pastoral call to ministry during their sophomore year. Five students will be awarded a scholarship of $1,000 for that academic year. As a recipient you will be expected to participate in a number of events that will assist in your process of discerning God's call on your life. These expectations are as follows:

  • Take one religion course during each semester of your sophomore year.
  • Participate in a trip to a seminary sampler at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Ind.
  • Attend at least six luncheons intended specifically for Pathways Scholarship recipients throughout each semester.
  • Participate in discussion sessions with special Pathways speakers. These discussions may occur in the occasional luncheons mentioned above.
  • Attend and participate in an end-of-year dinner.
  • Provide a written self-assessment of your discernment process in consideration of ministry as a vocation and an evaluation of the program.

Applications must be submitted by February 27, 2009, to Nancy Neff, Box 9, or neffn@bluffton.edu for the 2009-10 academic year.
