BLUFFTON ANNOUNCES INSTITUTE FOR LEARNING IN RETIREMENT SPRING CLASSES

Bluffton University’s Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR), an educational program designed specifically for retired individuals, is offering 12 spring classes beginning March 24 and continuing through May 15, 2008. The classes, sponsored by Bluffton University and the Elderhostel Institute Network, will cover a variety of topics, including astronomy, the Japanese language, and genetics.

The eight-week spring term costs $80 and enables members to take as many of the one-and-a-half-hour courses as they wish, as well as participate in other ILR activities. All classes will be held on Wednesdays in two locations on campus. This term, select four-week classes are offered. They include Monday at the Movies with David Adams, Astronomy with Richard Weaver, Beginning Recorder with Kevin Farmer, Book Reviews with various guest presenters, Japanese Language 101 with Robert and Alice Ramseyer, Quirky Women of the Bible with Julie Stratton, Genetics I: Patterns of Inheritance with Fran Core, and Hymns and the Stories Behind Them with JP Schumacher.

Eight-week courses include: India Revisited with Paul Dyck, Creative Writing: Poetry with Ruth Naylor, The Business of Doing Business with various guest speakers, and Colloquium with various guest speakers.
