Director of Undergraduate Admissions

Qualifications
Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Director of Admissions will lead a cohesive team of counselors in meeting institutional goals for recruiting. 

  • A passion for the mission of Bluffton University
  • Proven ability to set base/stretch goals, and define strategies to reach them
  • Proven ability to research the effectiveness of recruiting initiatives, and make data-based decisions
  • Proven ability to establish strong relationships with a diverse campus community 
  • Proven ability to thrive under pressure 
  • Good organization and planning skills
  • Familiarity with all media, including social media, advertising and communications tactics
  • Proven ability to teach sales skills to a junior counseling staff 
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred
  • Special appreciation for the Anabaptist Mennonite peace church tradition

Responsibilities
The Director will lead the Undergraduate Admissions Office. This includes the recruitment of first year students, transfers, international students, and underrepresented students. The Director participates in the strategic planning and implementation of recruitment-related marketing, contact programs and tracking systems. The Director must set base and stretch goals for the staff, and develop innovative plans to consistently meet those goals. The Director is also charged with leading skill development among the nine person staff, and numerous student workers. 

Compensation
Commensurate with education and experience within the university pay scale.

Appointment
The position is currently open, with the new hire to be in place by July 1.
