Rooms & Meeting Spaces

SEMINAR ROOM

The Seminar Room exists primarily for classes, seminars, workshops, presentations, programs, and training sessions provided by a member of the library staff or sponsored by the library. When not in use for these purposes, the room serves as an open study space for Musselman Library patrons. Other campus departments and groups are encouraged to request use of the room, within the guidelines, including short-term use only, not for semester-long courses or regularly scheduled meetings, with priority given to library instruction use.

Location:  Fourth floor

Hours Available: During scheduled open hours for the Musselman Library unless needed for class use.

Description:  Twelve 2-person study tables; 24 chairs (6 additional chairs available)

Equipment:  Wireless internet access. Teaching console with PC and projection, as well as various A/V inputs.

Food & Drink:  Consistent with Library policy, snacks and beverages in approved containers are permissible.

Maintenance. Care of the room is the responsibility of the group that has the reservation; problems should be reported to the Circulation Desk.

NORD ROOM

The Nord Room is an open study and gathering place, much like the Reading Room on the main level but offering opportunities for group study. Campus departments and student groups are encouraged to request this room, within the guidelines, including occasional use only, not for regularly scheduled classes or meetings. The goal is to keep the Nord Room open for everyone most all the time while meeting the needs of groups interested in this very special campus location.

Location:  Entry level

Hours Available: During scheduled open hours for the Musselman Library

Description:  Two 4-6 person study tables.  Additional seating may be available on request.

Equipment:  Wireless internet access.

Food & Drink:  Consistent with Library policy, snacks and beverages in approved containers are permissible.

Maintenance. Care of the room is the responsibility of the group that has the reservation; problems should be reported to the Circulation Desk.


Note: middle school and high school students are encouraged to come to the Research and Information Desk on the main level for assistance in using library resources and for permission to use any library computers. Use of the Nord Room is not permitted.
