Michigan Consolidated Gas Company Office Building (American Natural Resources Building)

Minoru Yamasaki
1962

Located in the Civic Center area, this thirty-two story corporate office tower rests on a podium with landscaping. Essentially an International style building in white marble and concrete panels, it employs a lacy grillwork. (The photographs were taken through glass at the top of the Renaissance Center.)

Other works by Yamasaki on this site include: Conservatory of Music (Oberlin College), De Roy Auditorium (Wayne State University), Education Building (Wayne State University), Japan Center (San Francisco), King Building (Oberlin College), McGregor Memorial Conference Center (Wayne State University), Warner Concert Hall (Oberlin College), and World Trade Center.
