New Beginnings, in front of Union Station

Larry Anderson
1984 (installed)

Since it was installed, the Union Station itself had a new beginning with a renovation of the exterior and interior and with a new addition, thus converting it to a Federal Courthouse. See exterior and interior views of Union Station. Chihuly glass sculpture is also integrated with the interior.

Centennial commemoration

This sculpture by Tacoma native Larry Anderson was installed in celebration of the city's centennial.

Careful historic detail

Anderson's interest in detail and historical accuracy is evident in this work. He sculpts his works from the beginning rather than using plaster casts of models.
