Penn Theater Project / Penn Medical Building

David M. Schwarz/Architectural Services, PC, 1985-86

The new complex includes an apartment building, a courtyard, and an office building built around the old Art Deco theater. The new five-part facade (3 projecting masses connected by hyphens) has a series of balconies, extensive windows, and colorful Art Deco/Post Modern decorative details.

The Post Modern additions wrapped around the original Art Deco theater

Details of the new addition

The facade is terra cotta and blue tiles with limestone trim. The ground level also uses polished marble and granite.
