| These slave quarters were reconstructed in 1989 on the site of the original houses of slaves who worked at Carter's Grove during the time of the Revolutionary War. Scholars believe the log cabin in the front probably housed two families. Behind it is a larger gang house, which might have housed as many as twenty persons. Other scholars suggest that it was divided in half with family groupings in each half. | ||
