New Graduate Residence Hall, University of Chicago

Edward Durell Stone
1963

Originally the Center for Continuing Education and a conference and hotel center, the building is now a graduate dormitory.

Patterns in concrete cover the building and even continue onto the underside of the cantilevered roof. See the left and middle photograph.

Other works on this site by Stone include: Amoco Building, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and the State University of New York at Albany.
