The Alhambra: The Court of the Myrtles (Patio de los Arrayanes) and Hall of the Boat (Sala de la Barca)

Looking toward the north Sometimes called the Patio de Comares (as well as a number of other names), this state section of the palace has on its north side the tallest tower of the complex, the Comares Tower.
		This beautiful courtyard has a long goldfish pond in the center with myrtle hedges flanking it. Fountains at each end provide the water.
Porticoes with fretwork decoration At each end of the courtyard, there are porticoes with seven semicircular arches covered with fretwork rhombuses and inscriptions praising God--stucco designs which extend even to the capitals of the slender columns.
Designs bordering doors and windows
Hall of the Boat (Sala de la Barca) This room, an antechamber to the adjoining Salón de Embajadores, has a wooden hull-shaped ceiling.
