A Room Where It Always Rains or Una habitacio on sempre hi plou

Like Lichtenstein's Barcelona Head, this sculpture was part of the renewal project for the Olympic Games of 1992 While Lichtenstein is an internationally known American Pop artists, Muñoz, also internationally famous, was from Madrid. Like many of his works, this has a quality of melancholy, with five bronze figures imprisoned in a cage and probably also self-absorbed. None relate to others and they are unable to walk, encased in sphere-like bases. (See also his Last Conversation Piece [1994-5] in the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden.)
A beach front location on the Plaça del Mar As the title says, with the open barrel roof, it would always rain in this "room."
		The figures lack individualizing features as well.
And the eyes don't seem to see.
