New structure on the Royal Mile combining the historic John Knox house with the adjacent Netherbow Arts Centre

The centre includes the John Knox house, the 99-seat Netherbow theatre, a library, and is the headquarters of the Scottish Storytelling Network. This centre helps to maintain the strong oral tradition in Scotland, an art form including both literature and performance.

"This site, combining the historic "John Knox House" with the adjacent Netherbow Centre, marks the historic, mediaeval main gateway into Edinburgh. The gateway, the Netherbow Port, was rebuilt many times, with its great bell being hung in 1621" (http://www.edinburgharchitecture.co.uk/scottish_storytelling_centre.htm).

The 1621 bell is in a new tower with random fenestration and a continuous groove running up the left side.
