The Anne and Jerome Fisher Fine Arts Library (also known as the Furness Library or the Fine Arts Library), University of Pennsylvania--page 1 (of two pages)

Like Furness's Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, this library is an amalgam of historicist references, still medieval but more romanesque than Gothic. The exterior is brick and stone with terra cotta panels. The magnificent tower has crenelations and gargoyles inhabit the upper reaches of the north end. (See details below.)

	Reading Room This library was one of the first in the United States to separate the reading room from the stacks. Here the reading room is an apse-like structure on the north end of the building.
