Van Eyck Pavilion, Kröller-Müller Sculpture Garden

Aldo van Eyck
1965-66; rebuilt in the Sculpture Garden, 2005-6

Like Rietveld's pavilion, this one too was reconstructed in the Kröller-Müller Sculpture Garden. Before van Eyck's death, he made some alterations to the original design to increase its chance for longevity. Unlike Rietveld's pavilion, this pavilion seems more closed and compact--less open to and connected with the natural world.
