Beverly Hills Civic Center--page 3 (of 4)

Charles Moore (Moore Ruble Yudell and Urban Innovations Group)
1988-90

The southwest courtyard with the colored arch (left) leading to the monumental pedestrian entrance

The colored arch is trimmed with mosaic tile, adding to the Spanish cum art deco flavor of this courtyard.

Looking back to the northeast elliptical courtyard (framed in center)

The stairs up to the colored arch and views of the upper walkways

Details of the southwest entrance

There is a monumental stairway and ramp at this entrance (sorry, no photo of the whole). For a wonderful photograph of this entrance, see James Steel, Los Angeles Architecture: The Contemporary Condition (London: Phaidon Press, 1993), 170-71.
