The Large Bather, Kansas City Sculpture Park

Pierre-Auguste Renoir
1917, bronze
48 1/2 x 51 x 28 inches (123.19 x 129.54 x 71.12 cm)

Also titled and perhaps more accurately as The Washerwoman, this work depicts a nude woman holding her wash in both hands. In the background of the center image is Gaston Lachaise's bas relief.

The style of this work, much freer than typical classically finished nineteenth century academic sculpture, is sometimed called impressionistic.
