This skyscraper is the second tallest bulding designed by Mies and the last American building completed before his death.

International style skyscraper

Like most International style buildings, this skyscraper has a glass curtain wall (in aluminum and bronze-tinted glass) but with the variation that the window frames are raised and spandrel panels recessed. The roof is of course flat.

The base

There is, however, a sense of a base, with a cantilevered porch. A public plaza surrounds the building.
